My hair wont curl and i dont know how to cut it!?

my hair strait as a board. its shoulder length and no layering. i tell my hair stylist every time that i want it layered a lot and she only layers the bottom inch. i have ot go to her because shes my neighbor and i dont know if i shouhd high light it (its naturaly blonde), or get a perm or layer it or what...I NEED HELP!!!

Okay, obviously your neighbor cannot provide you with the haircut you ask for, so stop going to her/him. If you're blonde then highlights are not such a good idea, unless your hair is on the dark side of blonde. What you could do is color it a darker color (like light brown) and then get some highlights. Another option you have is to get a perm. You should decide if you want it wavy or curly, but since your hair is shoulder length then you might just want it wavy. However, don't do it all (at least not during the same week). You can get a perm, and use a hair reconstructor to strenghten your hair; use it for at least a week. Then if you want you can go ahead and color your hair.

my hair refuses to curl too. what i use is a curling iron that releases steam. you fill up the cap w/ water and halfway through the curl you press the button for steam. it makes them stay still you wash it.

i would say ask for how every many layers you want like 5 6 etc and if you realy want curly hair for a permant amount of time get a perm but if its only fo rliek a day just get your hair wet can sleep on curlers hope this helps good luck!

Next time you go to your neighbor show her what you want maybe bring her a picture that happened to me once i asked for long layer and didn't get many. so now i bring pictures to show them what i want. If you get hightlights get a hairstylists opinions a friend of mine went and they gave her advice of colors that would look good with her hair color. Good Luck!
