Neck hair?

For years I have shaved the hair on the back of my neck that falls below my natural hair line. The hair was always wirery and curly and never would look right when trying to wear my hair up. So I had my stylist create a nice hair line like you would if you were a guy getting his hair cut. I have kept this clean and trimmed for years. Then I have moved and have gone through several different stylist. And they always react weird to the fact that I get rid of this hair. Why is that? I think it looks more well kept than a bunch of curly hair on the back of your neck like some other girls I see. Is it really that uncommon to shave your neck hair if you are a woman?

Neck hair?

I always shave those little hairs that won't go up into a ponytail. It looks cleaner and gives you a nice presentable hairline. I don't think it's weird at all! I just do it myself. My hairstylist has never thought it was strange.

Neck hair?

i don't think so..i don't do it but i don't think its very unusual..see if their hair is like that =] it probably is a mess in the back too..suggest they get it cut haha lol no i don't think its unusual by the way im on mi brother's account so dont thyink im a guy answering this =]

Neck hair?

i have never heard of it! i also think that if it makes you feel better go right ahead. some chicks dont shave their legs or underarms and some might think that is weird. the stylist should just be happy to do what you ask them to. very unprofessional of them to react like that. i know a few guys who pluck their eyebrows and it makes them look more clean or something. cant think of the word. more maintained i guess. lots of people think that is unusual, i mean for the guy. i dont think its unusual though but i have never heard of it being done.

Tipping my stylist?

I just got my hair cut at the same salon/day spa that I have been going to for over 2 years. Unfortunately, my regular stylist no longer works there, and I don't know where she works now. So, I had a new stylist working on my hair. It also seems like the business itself has made a few changes.

Before, with my previous stlylist, I just paid her. This time, the stylist took me to the front desk, wrote up a ticket that she gave to me, and left. I gave the ticket to the girl at the desk and she checked me out. I wasn't sure what to do about the tip. I didn't feel comfortable giving it to the girl at the desk, so I just didn't give one. I feel bad about this.

I'm not sure if I'll go back. The service was a little better, in some ways, but not as good in others.

Does anyone know the appropriate way to handle this payment situation, as far as tipping goes?

Tipping my stylist?

If you were not pleased in any way, then, no should not have tipped. Never feel forced to tip out of guilt or neccessity. A tip is a Kudos of sorts for good work.

In the future, as the stylist is writing up the ticket, you can then give them the tip. And it happens, so don't feel bad. It is not like you tried to slight her on purpose.

If you felt unconfortable, I would find out where the other stylist went, to continue going to her. You can do that by calling your salon and asking, but if they are being immature, you may have to call to similar salons in the city. BTW: in the future when you have a stylist that you like a lot, give them your contact information, so that if they are going to move on they can keep up with you.

Tipping my stylist?

Yeah you walk back to your stylist's station and give her the tip. I can't believe you stiffed her without asking anybody where you could tip her.

Tipping my stylist?

Some of those stylists make more than half their living in tips, and otherwise would make peanuts, so maybe remember that.

Tipping my stylist?

I'm a hairstylist and if i was in that situation of having to direct my clients to the front desk,I would just advice my clients of how the payments are only accepted at the front desk.As stylist and as a client to my friends i personally give them a tip before they take me to the check out. i hope i helped out

Tipping my stylist?

I give the girl up front a tip, and tell her to give it to the gal that cut my hair.

Tipping my stylist?

it's usually understood that if you leave a tip at the reception desk, that tip is meant for your stylist; next time say, "hey, i'd like to leave this for Brenda..." and give reception the tip.

ok well, i have about shoulder length dark brown hair, my natural color is auburn, and i went about a month ago to have it died light brown, the person messed up and died it to a 2 (a shade lighter than black) i was so mad so i went to my friend, and she put this stuff on it called vanish and its mainly sulfur, wich lightened it to a light brown, orange, so she put shades on it to make it a warm brown. i HATE my hair so i went to sallys and bought extensions, and manic panic cotton candy pink dye, and 30 volume bleach. i made a coon tail, and now i want to bleach my hair. so i cut a little piece of my hair off and put in the bleach for over forty five minutes... not a thing happened???

whats wrong? please explain in DETAIL.

thanks%26lt;33

You have a lot of semi permanent haircolor build up on your hair. Between the major build up from Shades EQ and Manic Panic, you might need to apply a color remover. Sally has Uncolor remover, you might want to try that, then recolor over top.

You have 3 - 4 layers of color on you hair. It's just the same as if you are painting a wall. 3 - 4 layers of paint doesn't remove that easily.

I would be a little hesitant to do this yourself, as you could really damage your hair. With so much product on it, already, you may just want to have a hairdresser do it, to ensure you don't break your hair off.

Although you applied bleach for 45 minutes, it could be that you need to mix up a fresh batch and reapply every 20 - 30 minutes to really remove the build up. Bleach can be left on the hair up to 90 minutes, however, it's not recommended if your hair is already damaged with so many color processes, especially with the sulfur product, be very careful.

shave it and buy a few wigs no biggie we have all done it

See a professional hair stylist.

hard to tell it could be you mixed the bleach wrong i would use 40 vol, and try another sample to make sure. If it does not work go see a stylist.... I'm very blond myself...

You need to go get it done professionally. The bleach you bought may not be strong enough to strip out the manic panic. I have been a stylist for 7 yrs and I'm well aware of how bad manic panic can be and it doesn't come out easy, you may end up with some realllllly damaged hair. Don't attempt it yourself!

Goodluck!

As a stylist I'm telling you go to a stylist. You don't know what you're doing and you're gonna fry your hair right off your head. You can take my advice or "Quit your bi*chin' cuz you did it in the kitchen".

Need hair style and stylists in L.A?

I need to get a good haircut and color. The last two haircuts I asked for layers and even brought in a pic! All I got was a crappy blunt cut with no layers. Anyone have any good styles? I have dark blond hair straight, to the middle of my back. I am a mom and need something to go into a ponytail but that can be styled. I have worn it long and straight parted in the middle since high school. I also need a good salon that has people trained to help you get a good cut that looks good with the hair texture, face shape etc. No fantastic sams!! I don't care what the price is! (within reason, I can't afford a $600 hair cut :) Good colorists too, let me know if you know any good places in L.A. or Riverside County CA. Let me know THANKS

Need hair style and stylists in L.A?

Actually and factually J%26gt;C%26gt; Penney's has good stylist, go in and talk to them before making the appointment, sort of feel them out and pick the one you like best, I've never had a bad cut!

Need hair style and stylists in L.A?

I go to a lady who's a color specialist in riverside county...

she's amazing!

if you bring in a photo, she'll tell you everything about it and you...

how it would look on you, what factors you have to consider (face shape, hair texture, hair thickness)

and if she thinks the one you have your heart set on isn't good for you (and she's a good judge) than she'll recommend a cut that is similar but will work for you..

I love her, she's awesome, if you want her number, message me!

Wat should I do wit my hair???

I just got my hair highlighted and cut, the stylist used mousse while it was wet and sprayed it wit something and then put some oily stuff on it, she blowdried it and flipped the ends out but now I am afraid to wash my hair because I think that I won't be able to get my hair the way it was... wat should I do???

Wat should I do wit my hair???

Stop worrying about it so much you shallow cow.

Wat should I do wit my hair???

You're going to have to wash it at some point. Call your stylist and ask what products she used and what kind of brushes you will need to replicate the style. I never get my hair like my hairstylist does because they have blowdryers and hair straighteners that are much better than mine.

Wat should I do wit my hair???

call the stylist and ask her the products that she used and then go to the local store and see if u can get them and then wash ur hair and do it u can use a straighter too instead of a brush and blow drier ask the shampoo and condition as well sometimes if u get the right products it will help to get it the way u have it when they did it

Wat should I do wit my hair???

i think u must be careful when do something like that

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

Where i get my hair cut there is a separate person who washes hair, and then the stylist. How much to tip each? This has always confused my, I am never sure who i should tip.

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

You don't. You're already paying the asking price for the service. Why the hell should you pay more?

The expectation of tips in the US has gotten out of hand. Do you tip a pilot, working for Major Airline X, as you get off the plane? He or she just provided you a service by getting you safely across the country. I don't see too many tip jars by the cockpit door.

Just because somebody makes a wage in whatever job below a certain range does not entitle the rest of us to give them a little extra "just to help." If that person feels stiffed, then he or she should find another position or another career field and earn a wage commensurate with his or her skills.

The person who invented tips probably also came up with the phrase, "There's a sucker born every minute."

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

2-5 dollars is just fine

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

$2 for the hair washing person, 20% for the haircutter. If it's a nice place.

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

Hairdresser:15% to 20%. (It is now acceptable to tip owner, unless he or she says otherwise.)

Shampoo person:$2

I got this off of a website... however, i would never tip the shampoo person only $2... i think $5 is much better.. $2 seems really cheap...

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

no more than 5 dallors

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

i tip the shampoo girl $5 and the hairdresser 20%

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

your tip should be "thank-you", or "mo hair"

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

Well it comes down to what you feel they were worth I guess. Me persionally I usually tip my stylist $5 and throw an extra $2 or $3 to the person that washes my hair. Quite honestly the hairwashing is the best part of the haircut, it's always nice when some one massages your scalp.

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

Depends on your hairdresser~ if their are two people working on you, they normally split the tip. Usually the hairdresser spends more time on you than the person washing your hair.

Again depends on your hairdresser~ If she's loyal, takes her time, treats you like a Queen~ she's gentle, talkative, offers you a soda, don't ask alot of questions~ I usually give half of what it cost.

I'm not saying I'm picky but if I'm there setting for two hours having highlights, style. I'll pay her well!
