Neck hair?

For years I have shaved the hair on the back of my neck that falls below my natural hair line. The hair was always wirery and curly and never would look right when trying to wear my hair up. So I had my stylist create a nice hair line like you would if you were a guy getting his hair cut. I have kept this clean and trimmed for years. Then I have moved and have gone through several different stylist. And they always react weird to the fact that I get rid of this hair. Why is that? I think it looks more well kept than a bunch of curly hair on the back of your neck like some other girls I see. Is it really that uncommon to shave your neck hair if you are a woman?

Neck hair?

I always shave those little hairs that won't go up into a ponytail. It looks cleaner and gives you a nice presentable hairline. I don't think it's weird at all! I just do it myself. My hairstylist has never thought it was strange.

Neck hair?

i don't think so..i don't do it but i don't think its very unusual..see if their hair is like that =] it probably is a mess in the back too..suggest they get it cut haha lol no i don't think its unusual by the way im on mi brother's account so dont thyink im a guy answering this =]

Neck hair?

i have never heard of it! i also think that if it makes you feel better go right ahead. some chicks dont shave their legs or underarms and some might think that is weird. the stylist should just be happy to do what you ask them to. very unprofessional of them to react like that. i know a few guys who pluck their eyebrows and it makes them look more clean or something. cant think of the word. more maintained i guess. lots of people think that is unusual, i mean for the guy. i dont think its unusual though but i have never heard of it being done.

Tipping my stylist?

I just got my hair cut at the same salon/day spa that I have been going to for over 2 years. Unfortunately, my regular stylist no longer works there, and I don't know where she works now. So, I had a new stylist working on my hair. It also seems like the business itself has made a few changes.

Before, with my previous stlylist, I just paid her. This time, the stylist took me to the front desk, wrote up a ticket that she gave to me, and left. I gave the ticket to the girl at the desk and she checked me out. I wasn't sure what to do about the tip. I didn't feel comfortable giving it to the girl at the desk, so I just didn't give one. I feel bad about this.

I'm not sure if I'll go back. The service was a little better, in some ways, but not as good in others.

Does anyone know the appropriate way to handle this payment situation, as far as tipping goes?

Tipping my stylist?

If you were not pleased in any way, then, no should not have tipped. Never feel forced to tip out of guilt or neccessity. A tip is a Kudos of sorts for good work.

In the future, as the stylist is writing up the ticket, you can then give them the tip. And it happens, so don't feel bad. It is not like you tried to slight her on purpose.

If you felt unconfortable, I would find out where the other stylist went, to continue going to her. You can do that by calling your salon and asking, but if they are being immature, you may have to call to similar salons in the city. BTW: in the future when you have a stylist that you like a lot, give them your contact information, so that if they are going to move on they can keep up with you.

Tipping my stylist?

Yeah you walk back to your stylist's station and give her the tip. I can't believe you stiffed her without asking anybody where you could tip her.

Tipping my stylist?

Some of those stylists make more than half their living in tips, and otherwise would make peanuts, so maybe remember that.

Tipping my stylist?

I'm a hairstylist and if i was in that situation of having to direct my clients to the front desk,I would just advice my clients of how the payments are only accepted at the front desk.As stylist and as a client to my friends i personally give them a tip before they take me to the check out. i hope i helped out

Tipping my stylist?

I give the girl up front a tip, and tell her to give it to the gal that cut my hair.

Tipping my stylist?

it's usually understood that if you leave a tip at the reception desk, that tip is meant for your stylist; next time say, "hey, i'd like to leave this for Brenda..." and give reception the tip.

Hair stylists please read!?

ok well, i have about shoulder length dark brown hair, my natural color is auburn, and i went about a month ago to have it died light brown, the person messed up and died it to a 2 (a shade lighter than black) i was so mad so i went to my friend, and she put this stuff on it called vanish and its mainly sulfur, wich lightened it to a light brown, orange, so she put shades on it to make it a warm brown. i HATE my hair so i went to sallys and bought extensions, and manic panic cotton candy pink dye, and 30 volume bleach. i made a coon tail, and now i want to bleach my hair. so i cut a little piece of my hair off and put in the bleach for over forty five minutes... not a thing happened???

whats wrong? please explain in DETAIL.

thanks%26lt;33

Hair stylists please read!?

You have a lot of semi permanent haircolor build up on your hair. Between the major build up from Shades EQ and Manic Panic, you might need to apply a color remover. Sally has Uncolor remover, you might want to try that, then recolor over top.

You have 3 - 4 layers of color on you hair. It's just the same as if you are painting a wall. 3 - 4 layers of paint doesn't remove that easily.

I would be a little hesitant to do this yourself, as you could really damage your hair. With so much product on it, already, you may just want to have a hairdresser do it, to ensure you don't break your hair off.

Although you applied bleach for 45 minutes, it could be that you need to mix up a fresh batch and reapply every 20 - 30 minutes to really remove the build up. Bleach can be left on the hair up to 90 minutes, however, it's not recommended if your hair is already damaged with so many color processes, especially with the sulfur product, be very careful.

Hair stylists please read!?

shave it and buy a few wigs no biggie we have all done it

Hair stylists please read!?

See a professional hair stylist.

Hair stylists please read!?

hard to tell it could be you mixed the bleach wrong i would use 40 vol, and try another sample to make sure. If it does not work go see a stylist.... I'm very blond myself...

Hair stylists please read!?

You need to go get it done professionally. The bleach you bought may not be strong enough to strip out the manic panic. I have been a stylist for 7 yrs and I'm well aware of how bad manic panic can be and it doesn't come out easy, you may end up with some realllllly damaged hair. Don't attempt it yourself!

Goodluck!

As a stylist I'm telling you go to a stylist. You don't know what you're doing and you're gonna fry your hair right off your head. You can take my advice or "Quit your bi*chin' cuz you did it in the kitchen".

Need hair style and stylists in L.A?

I need to get a good haircut and color. The last two haircuts I asked for layers and even brought in a pic! All I got was a crappy blunt cut with no layers. Anyone have any good styles? I have dark blond hair straight, to the middle of my back. I am a mom and need something to go into a ponytail but that can be styled. I have worn it long and straight parted in the middle since high school. I also need a good salon that has people trained to help you get a good cut that looks good with the hair texture, face shape etc. No fantastic sams!! I don't care what the price is! (within reason, I can't afford a $600 hair cut :) Good colorists too, let me know if you know any good places in L.A. or Riverside County CA. Let me know THANKS

Need hair style and stylists in L.A?

Actually and factually J%26gt;C%26gt; Penney's has good stylist, go in and talk to them before making the appointment, sort of feel them out and pick the one you like best, I've never had a bad cut!

Need hair style and stylists in L.A?

I go to a lady who's a color specialist in riverside county...

she's amazing!

if you bring in a photo, she'll tell you everything about it and you...

how it would look on you, what factors you have to consider (face shape, hair texture, hair thickness)

and if she thinks the one you have your heart set on isn't good for you (and she's a good judge) than she'll recommend a cut that is similar but will work for you..

I love her, she's awesome, if you want her number, message me!

Wat should I do wit my hair???

I just got my hair highlighted and cut, the stylist used mousse while it was wet and sprayed it wit something and then put some oily stuff on it, she blowdried it and flipped the ends out but now I am afraid to wash my hair because I think that I won't be able to get my hair the way it was... wat should I do???

Wat should I do wit my hair???

Stop worrying about it so much you shallow cow.

Wat should I do wit my hair???

You're going to have to wash it at some point. Call your stylist and ask what products she used and what kind of brushes you will need to replicate the style. I never get my hair like my hairstylist does because they have blowdryers and hair straighteners that are much better than mine.

Wat should I do wit my hair???

call the stylist and ask her the products that she used and then go to the local store and see if u can get them and then wash ur hair and do it u can use a straighter too instead of a brush and blow drier ask the shampoo and condition as well sometimes if u get the right products it will help to get it the way u have it when they did it

Wat should I do wit my hair???

i think u must be careful when do something like that

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

Where i get my hair cut there is a separate person who washes hair, and then the stylist. How much to tip each? This has always confused my, I am never sure who i should tip.

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

You don't. You're already paying the asking price for the service. Why the hell should you pay more?

The expectation of tips in the US has gotten out of hand. Do you tip a pilot, working for Major Airline X, as you get off the plane? He or she just provided you a service by getting you safely across the country. I don't see too many tip jars by the cockpit door.

Just because somebody makes a wage in whatever job below a certain range does not entitle the rest of us to give them a little extra "just to help." If that person feels stiffed, then he or she should find another position or another career field and earn a wage commensurate with his or her skills.

The person who invented tips probably also came up with the phrase, "There's a sucker born every minute."

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

2-5 dollars is just fine

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

$2 for the hair washing person, 20% for the haircutter. If it's a nice place.

Shampoo person:$2

I got this off of a website... however, i would never tip the shampoo person only $2... i think $5 is much better.. $2 seems really cheap...

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

no more than 5 dallors

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

i tip the shampoo girl $5 and the hairdresser 20%

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

your tip should be "thank-you", or "mo hair"

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

Well it comes down to what you feel they were worth I guess. Me persionally I usually tip my stylist $5 and throw an extra $2 or $3 to the person that washes my hair. Quite honestly the hairwashing is the best part of the haircut, it's always nice when some one massages your scalp.

How much to tip hair dresser, and hair washing person?

Depends on your hairdresser~ if their are two people working on you, they normally split the tip. Usually the hairdresser spends more time on you than the person washing your hair.

Again depends on your hairdresser~ If she's loyal, takes her time, treats you like a Queen~ she's gentle, talkative, offers you a soda, don't ask alot of questions~ I usually give half of what it cost.

I'm not saying I'm picky but if I'm there setting for two hours having highlights, style. I'll pay her well!

How to care for bleached hair?

I am having major second thoughts about bleaching all of my hair light blonde this saturday. Well, l'm having a hair stylist %26amp; hair instructor do the bleaching cutting, %26amp; coloring.

This is the current condition of my hair.

How should I take care of my bleached hair without having it break off/brittleness/falling out? :x

I know it is risky and I'm freaking out, but honestly, it there anything else that would work?

How to care for bleached hair?

I do not think you should bleach your hair. It's going to get really dry and fried.

How to care for bleached hair?

I think you should just get chunky highlights. If i was you i would not bleach my whole head. Just my opinion

How to care for bleached hair?

yes, you can bleach it lighter.. you should use that dove repairing shampoo and conditionerafterwards

Long Layers [hair stylists PLEASE answer]?

I have been reading up on how to cut your own layers and I have read two different ways to do it.

I know all the steps I would just like someone to clear this one up for me, perferably a hair dresser or someone who has done this before with success.

After you comb your hair and put it in a pony tail on the center/top of your head it says to put your head upside down and cut straight across the bottom or to which ever legnth you prefer. Another says to "twist your hair into a spiral" then cut straight across.

So do I twist my hair before I cut or just comb it straight then cut, and is there a difference between the two?

Long Layers [hair stylists PLEASE answer]?

If you truly want "Long" layers it is NOT a good idea to put your hair in a ponytail on the top of your head and cut "straight" across ... you will most likely end up with shoulder length shaggy. In all honesty I would not advise ponytail cutting as you will end up with short patches in all the wrong places especially if you twist it!! I say this because if you twist the hair you will have the hair not being consistent in where it goes, some hair will not twist around as far as other hair. You could end up with a bunch being longer or shorter than you really want thus creating patches( and that is bad enough when a stylist does it to you!!!)

You can put your hair up in a ponytail and "angle cut" to achieve the longer layers...by angle cut I mean cutting closer to the scalp at the crown( about 3" or a bit longer depending on how long you want the top to be) at the back of your head, then angling out to a tip towards your nose as you extend your arms forward.

To end up with a better "layer cut" you comb your hair from back of your head to front and angle trim from your brow out as you extend your arms. When doing the sides you would bring them from the back forward and up to the brow ( not to the side by the cheeks) Always try to end up at the same point in front of your nose above your forehead.

But then again for the "long layers" you really should not attempt this on your own as your arms reach will limit, I don`t know any stylist that do this to themselves ( that may be for good reason as they too have reverse cut issues, meaning it is tough for them to cut backwards too lol)

Long Layers [hair stylists PLEASE answer]?

I read about that pony tail thing too, I want to do it but I'm scard lol... its worth a try but only cut alittle first to see how it comes out or you can test on a barbie lol

Long Layers [hair stylists PLEASE answer]?

Go to sally beauty and get a mankin to practice on. Try it on a mankin head first, then it it turns out good/right how you want go 4 it. Or get it done professionally

Long Layers [hair stylists PLEASE answer]?

Well, my hairstylist twist my hair and then cut it. (he only grabs a few pieces at a time...he DOESN'T grab the whole hair, twist it, and then cut it...he just picks up a few small pieces.)

*edit

Sorry if i don't make any sense...and the manikin idea is good too.

Long Layers [hair stylists PLEASE answer]?

go spend 15 bucks at fantastic sams....as horrible as those stylists are....they will do a better job than you can.

How do i get Nancy O'dells hair color and cut at the salon?

If anyone has watched The oscars or access hollywood you would know who im takn about shes the prettiest one there. I would like to get her hair colro it looks soo pretty, but it looks like there is 5 biullion diff colors in it? Does anyone know what colors or how many and what i should tell my stylist i want? Plus is she naturally that tan??

or does she have to fake bake all the time to keep that dark color?

How do i get Nancy O'dells hair color and cut at the salon?

no one is htat tan!!! also just get a dyer and do it yourslef!!! enjoy! o and if you really wnat adviece, DON'T DO IT!!!SHE LOOKS LIKE AN UGLY %$@%26amp;*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do i get Nancy O'dells hair color and cut at the salon?

First of all, she is NOT that tan naturally. She spray tans all the time. About the color of her highlights, take a color pic with you to the salon so they know exactly what you are talking about.

How do i get Nancy O'dells hair color and cut at the salon?

Spray on tan and shower it off each night. Tell a really good hair burner what you want and show her a picture. Hair burners hate (hate) customers who do this as the hairburner wants to tell you if that will not look good on you and does not dare too tell you. Make sure you get one who will be honest and that you are ready to hear if it will not work on your head and body. Then don't do it if it will not work. If it works and you have a hairburner who is honest with you and you with her, you are set. Good luck.

Is there a stylist out there that can tell me what style cut is for a round face, short neck?

I have tried all different cuts and I really like a shorter cut. I am in my 50's so I do not want long hair. I would love to ask a NY known stylist, except I live in PA. Any real suggestions?

Is there a stylist out there that can tell me what style cut is for a round face, short neck?

I like the idea of a cut really short in the back, kind of stacked, and the sides gradually come to a point just below the ears.I have seen this cut on a few people and it also looks to be pretty easy to deal with on a daily basis. I think the hair that comes down beside the ears will make your face seem more narrow and the shorter hair in the back will keep your neck on display. Hope you can see in your head the cut the way I see it.

Is there a stylist out there that can tell me what style cut is for a round face, short neck?

yes, at your local hair salon.

its best because they can actually SEE you.

unlike us people, just an explanation wont do any god.

Is there a stylist out there that can tell me what style cut is for a round face, short neck?

I have the best success with haircuts if I pour through hair magazines and other beauty magazines and cut out a few images of hairstyles that I think would suit me. Something about having those images that makes it easier for the stylist to understand what I am looking for and they make other suggestions about tweaking it to fit my face and hair type.

Is there a stylist out there that can tell me what style cut is for a round face, short neck?

Go to www.thehairstyler.com. They allow you to enter a picture of yourself, and animate different hairstyles and colors on your picture giving you a view of what you like. They also have you type in your face shape, eye color, skin type, height, and gives you an overall sight of what hair cut, style, and color is best for you. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Is there a stylist out there that can tell me what style cut is for a round face, short neck?

I had the best style for my round face, it was really stylish and easy to fix..Look for pictures of the actress, LISA RINNA, she has the same cut, its really cute and I had the most compliments when mine was that style...:)

Professional hair salon in Lansing Michigan area?

It's finally time to go get my hair cut again, and I'm ready to get that much shorter hairstyle I've been afraid to get at the cheap salons I normally go to. I want to go to a professional salon where I don't have to hear "oops" or feel totally disappointed at the job the stylist did with my hair. If I get it cut as short as I want it, I wont have the option to go somewhere else and have them try to fix it. It doesn't have to be a real big upscale salon or anything just one with a younger crowd who know what the hell kind of haircut I want done. Any ideas?

Professional hair salon in Lansing Michigan area?

sorry only know an awesome one in Commerce Twp MI.

My brother in law owns it and they're pretty fantastic.

If you want I can send him an email and ask him if he knows of any good ones in your area.

Really good HAIR SALON around Gwinnett, or close to?

I always go to the "cheap-o" salon to get a haircut 4 like $10, but the last time, I got my hair messed up. I was scared, so like a year later, I just got my hair cut at an "expensive" salon, I thought "Hey, it's the one time I'm spending a lot on my hair, maybe I'll get a GOOD cut." Guys, my hair is so jacked, the stylist was MEAN to me, I mean MEAN, and it cost me $40. Now, I need to, is possible find a GOOD salon, 4 real this time, to cut/fix my hair as best possible. Right now I am having to wear a headband everyday, to keep all the random CHUNKS she cut, from curling up in my face. It's bad guys, please help. PLUS I've been growing out my hair (it was LOOONG) for the cancer pacients, and she cut like 7 inches off the bottom after messsing up over and over. I could cry really guys. I've tried to style it to hide the damage, but to no avail. Please help me out, preferably to a salon kinda close to Snellville, but as long as it's GOOD, mileage won't matter. Please help.

wat u can do is use conditioner when u wash it to give it volume and straighten it also for a sleek look. if u dont wanna do that, seventeen magazine usually gives hairstyles u can do by urself at home.

How can I learn to cut my own hair?(books, web etc) It's very thick and frizzy. Stylists rarely do a good job.

there are electrical cutting tool kits you can buy and cutting combs that can be used as guide are included. if you already know the basics of hair cutting you may try it at your own risk, but you probably want a friend who knows how to cut hair to help you the first few times. i wouldn't dare to cut my own hair cos its hard to recover

How can I learn to cut my own hair?(books, web etc) It's very thick and frizzy. Stylists rarely do a good job.

What You Need

You'll need a quiet, comfortable place with a big mirror (bathroom or bedroom), good lighting, a spray bottle of water, a hand mirror, hair clips, time, patience, plus a comb and sharp pair of scissors. Sharp scissors are important, as dull scissors will result in a dull cut.

Prepare Your Hair

It's easier to cut slightly damp hair, as opposed to completely wet. Cutting wet hair (especially bangs) can result in a too-short style. It is also easier to cut clean hair. When you are ready, slightly dampen your hair with a spray bottle of water. If your hair dries as you're cutting, re-spray as needed.

Be Patient

Remember, it is better to cut too little than too much, and don't try to rush.

Single Length Hair

Hair that is one length all the way around is a straightforward trim. Just follow the procedure for bangs (below), snipping the same amount off your ends in small sections. When you're finished trimming, comb or brush to your usual style and check the back with a hand mirror.

Bangs

For multi-length hair, start with your bangs. Comb them straight, being careful not to include side hairs. Next, take your bangs between your index and middle fingers and pull them down until a line of about 1/4-inch of hair is showing. Carefully trim approximately half of that (1/8-inch) all the way across. Check the length and repeat if necessary.

Don't try to trim too much length at once. Holding shorter lengths for cutting (1/4-inch) keeps the hairs firmly in place as you cut.

You can make the line of your bangs less blunt-looking by diagonally cutting the tips of a few strands of hair across your bangs. But, only cut a few. Be careful not to overdo.

Sides and Layers

The next step is your layers, if any, and the side angles of your hair. If you have layers all over, you will be following them, top to bottom, front to back. If your hair is all one length except for the side angles, you will be working along the sides of your style only, front to back.

Choose a top layer or side piece of hair approximately the same size and thickness as you did for your bangs. This smaller amount is easiest to work with. If you try to hold and cut too much at once, the result will be uneven. Remember that you want to follow your original lengths.

You will be able to pick out layers of similar lengths by using your comb as a guide and holding the hairs between your index and middle fingers, as you did with your bangs. Slide your fingers down to leave a fairly straight line of 1/4-inches showing. Then, like your bangs, trim approximately 1/8-inch all the way across. For side angles, follow the same technique, being sure to angle your index and middle fingers to follow the angle of your hair.

This is where hair clips come in handy. As you are trimming the higher layers or lengths first, use a clip to keep each finished section up and out of the way.

The Back

Dealing with the back of your hair might seem tricky, but you'll get the hang of it. Take your time, make use of your hand mirror, and work patiently in sections, as above, clipping them up as you go.

When you're satisfied that you've trimmed all you need to trim, style your hair as usual (re-dampen and use a product on your hair, if you normally do). Voila! A fresh cut and no money spent.

hope it helps!

How can I learn to cut my own hair?(books, web etc) It's very thick and frizzy. Stylists rarely do a good job.

Hi Cas,

Well while its very difficult to cut one's own hair, it is possible. I am a retired hairdresser, and I cut my own hair. I get a mirror, and hold it in front of me, while looking in it at the mirror behind me..... I then deciede how much to cut, and I am right handed, so I wet my hair, and comb out a strand about 1" in diameter. And cut. snip snip....and continue across the bottom, for the length...checking in both mirror's,,,,then I use a pair of thinning shears and start at the crown, and just cut....and wherever it feels the thickest,,,,and continue around the crown. Eventully you run out of hair to cut. Then I leave the bangs for last.... cuz I try to save the hardest for last. Once the line is in place for the length ya want em at, then I pick em up and measure them using my comb. Then I layer em' for fullness .... It takes time. but it can be done....

Not sure this helps you,,,but its how I cut my own hair ...and have been cutting it for over 30 years....

Any Beauticians, Hair stylists and African-American females out there?

What treatment would you recommend for severely damaged hair? My beautician told me today that my 14 year old daughter's hair is going through severe breakage; what can we do to treat it at home without having to go to the salon every week for the next couple of months? We are desparate since she does not want to cut her hair.

Any Beauticians, Hair stylists and African-American females out there?

Mayo!! Don't laugh, I"m serious. It's a great conditioner. Just put it on after shampooing, let it stay on the hair for 30-45 minutes w/ a plastic bag covering it, apply light heat w/ a blow dryer.. Than shampoo and condition as normal.

Even tho your daughter does not want to cut her hair, split ends are going to happen, breakage is going to happen, it's best to get a TRIM at least every 6-8 weeks. Getting a trim helps the hair grow rather than prohibiting it.

Good luck!!

Any Beauticians, Hair stylists and African-American females out there?

deep conditioners, Vo5 Hot oil treatment is great too.

u might want to try Henna- my mom uses it and it does her hair wonders. she mixes it with egg, avacado, and any other natural ingredients said to be good for the hair. You can buy Henna for hair in any Indian or Pakastani shop. It also naturally colors the hair too! If you leave it on for 24 hours and wash it out its really good. but if you don't want to try that...

i think its all about keeping the hair clean, moisturized and not putting too much stress or pressure on it. avoid chemicals, like relaxers/perms. keep it natural for best results, if she wants her hair straight use a chi or ceramic iron, but just leaving the hair alone is whats best.

if my hair were damaged i would just cut the damages ends and regrow the hair b/c damaged hair just looks unhealthy.

Any Beauticians, Hair stylists and African-American females out there?

u can also try Pantene Pro-V for women of color.Get the whole line of products.I guarantee you will see a big difference in her hair. And you must trim the dead ends or the hair will not grow. Also you can use a treatment called placenta. You can find it in any beauty supply store.

Any Beauticians, Hair stylists and African-American females out there?

Breakage can be caused by many different reasons, from poor diet, vitamin deficiancy, and certain hair styles even, among many other things. So there are many things that can be done, at home, depending on what the reasoning behind the breakage.

Make sure that she is eating a well balanced diet with a large variety of fruits %26amp; vegetables, lean protiens, and whole grains. Have her take multi-vitamins on a daily basis, because no matter how well a person eats, the nutrients in foods aren't nearly what they used to be "back in the day".

Get a good nourishing shampoo %26amp; conditioner, something for dry damaged hair. While salon exclusive brands are very good, it's not always necessary to spend that kind of money, there are many very good products availiable in the stores at reasonable prices. And at least once a week, use a deep conditioning treatment, or hot oil treatment. Very dry hair is more suseptible to breakage.

Have her avoid wearing her hair tied up, especially in the same place, as often as possible. Avoid constant wearing of extensions, no matter how applied because these add extra stress to the hair and scalp.

She may not want to cut her hair, but until her hair is back to a healthy status, she should go in about every 3 weeks for a small trim. Once it is back to healthy, she should go in at least every 6-8 weeks for a good trim and continue avoiding styles that can cause excessive damage.

Any Beauticians, Hair stylists and African-American females out there?

In my shop we sell alot of redkin deep fuel, its a little blue box with 6 tubes in it. You use 1 tube a week . You will be amazed after the first one, also trim not cut, at least every 6 weeks. The faster you get that bad hair off the better. Also maybe try Biolodge Hydrating shampoo and Conditioning Balm daily or every other day its good in between treatments. The redkin costs approx. 30.00 it works and still cheaper than a weekly trip to the salon.

Any Beauticians, Hair stylists and African-American females out there?

try a protein hair treatment that is good for breakage. also have you daughter eat foods that have vitamin d, protein (etc) that are good for hair breakage. also do not blow dry her hair often b/c that leads to breakage. put rollers instead and dry it under a hair dryer. also limit using curling/straightening irons cause this too damage hair. if your daughter has a perm, then maybe the type of perm may cause this (esp. if it has lye in it). also get rid of split ends about every 2-3 months is helpful. make sure beautician knows how to cut well and not cut off too much.

Any Beauticians, Hair stylists and African-American females out there?

Keep the hair deep conditioned. I love Queen Helen's product and it is not expensive at all. Also make sure she wraps her hair every night and puts a silk scarf over it. She also wants to keep some type of oil on her hair as well. Also look for an hairstyle that does not require her to put any bands in her hair.

When I damaged my hair I kept it the wrap hair style and it snapped back into shape after a while. You must know there is no saving the really damaged hair and even she does not cut it it will break off.

Where can I find a great salon in Tampa that does hair extensions at a reasonable price?

I just recently had my shoulder length hair cut and I swear the stylist gave me a mullet!! Not only do I hate it, but I have a wedding and several Christmas parties coming up. I know I was dumb to get my hair cut but now I need to find a solution fast! I need a reputable place in the Tampa area. And I need to know how much I can expect to spend. Please help!

Where can I find a great salon in Tampa that does hair extensions at a reasonable price?

Marisabel on West Waters is the best, they do all kinds of hair types, my friends mother came down for her wedding from Haiti with a short, cropped almost buzz-cut and they gave her a natural update for $65 with past-shoulder length sew-in extensions...great job, great service, cost based on hair length and difficulty as well as hair's condition.

also try Melanee's on East Busch near Busch Gardens, or Bliss (has a full extension, no glue for about $99 special sometimes)

How would I go about getting a cut like this?

http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/71737569....

My hair is dark brown. What would I ask a hair stylist for if I wanted this cut? It looks like some hair at the front is tucked behind, is that a side fringe or what?

Thanks!

tell your stylist that you would like a long diagonal forward thats not so dramatic. :)

Hair stylists only please.?

I am having a very hard time growing my hair. I believe this is why. back in july of 2003 I had a total hysterectomy. Since then when I cut my hair, then after a few months try to grow it again it does not. Before this I would cut it, then when I wanted long hair again with in 2 months it would be shoulder lenght, now nothing. I have taken bioten, pre-natal vitamins, tried mane %26amp; tail %26amp; other products that I was told would help %26amp; nothing. If you can please help I would be greatly appreciated.

Hair stylists only please.?

try a menthol based shampoo, I suggest american crew ( i think its daily revitalising shampoo, i forget) The menthol in the shampoo or conditioner stimulates the hair follicle and encourages growth.

Hair stylists only please.?

eat a lot of green leaves and try hair oils....

Hair stylists only please.?

Your problem is probably the lack of hormones in your body from the hysterectomy.

Your hair is a by-product of your bodies health.

I would first see your doctor and have a hormone panel done. If you can take bio identical hormones to replace what is missing, you will see progress in your hair loss.

If this was a result of cancer, that may not be an option.

Is your diet healthy? You must eat protein and have a balanced diet high in B vitamins. B6, B4 and B12 (for stress).

Are you a smoker. Smoking cuts off oxygen to your system and could be a contributing factor. See a stylist. Understand you may not be able to have what you want with out using artifical means (hair extensions, pieces, etc).

Your hair may be reacting to stress. If you are having alot of anxiety about this, it will reflect in your hair.

Take care of yourself.

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

well i have ***** grow hair and i did cut it off but the only things is how do i keep the split ends away my hair is growing but every time i get my hair done my stylist is always cut down again because she said that i have a lot of split-ends and what would be the best way to get ride of them cause i like my hair but i get tried of get it cut all the time due to my split-ends

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

It sounds like your hair is probably prone to dryness. (Mine was like that too)

Some of the things that you can do is to make sure you use a really good shampoo and conditioner. You may want to consider doubling up on the conditioner - one when you wash it and one spray leave it conditioner. (I use both and it makes my hair baby soft)

Speaking to a cosmetician at a pharmacy will help you pick out the best.

Only blow-dry if you really really have to. It dries out your hair which makes it prone to splitting and breaking. If you can let it air-dry and then style it you will see a big difference in no time.

Also keep away from any hair care products that have alcohol or wax in it. Generally products made for "black" hair are much better quality then those for "white" hair, but again the cosmetician should be able to help you out.

Lastly, I recommend keeping away from metal brushes, combs and barrettes, etc. Metal products are hard on the hair and can cause a lot of breakage.

I hope that helps! Good luck!

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

Burn the ends of them with a lighter so that it closes and bcomes more stronger. i do it all the time it really works.

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

grease it more often with hair food

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

OK. you should use Garnier Fructis length and strengthen. its an anti-split end hair treatment and its kind of like lotion for your hair. you should use it right out of the shower. it works for me and I've only been using it for a week. and you just leave it in your hair. it keeps split ends away and it makes your hair really shiny and it has nutritive fruit oils in it for healthy and silky hair. it smells good too. you can get it at walmart or at bath and body in the mall. good luck!

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

Get yur hair cut more often and that will be the fastest thing that you can do.

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

Use Sunsilk Hydra TLC shampoo and conditioner. My hair is dry with spilt ends and cutting it is one option, but this shampoo really works, and it's not too expensive. If you want to try it first, go to www.get-hairapy.com. You can order free samples.

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

try hot oil i think that is what it is called it comes in small tubes at wal -mart or target wherever!

hope this helped u!!!

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

Redken Anti-Snap EVERYDAY

Stay away from any drug store product that claims to add shine, it will dry you out!

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

stop chemically processing it!

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

Oh boy...if you are using relaxers/perms, those sure dry things out and are usually the culprit for all that breakage. I suggest you tell your stylist to be very careful not to overlap when she perms it, and to apply the product ONLY to the new growth. I would change stylists if she doesnt comply. Sounds to me like that is the problem. In the meantime, I would try some leave-in conditioners to get it in the best shape possible before you return to the salon. I know that with black hair, having regrowth is not an option....so maybe try that or change to a better stylist- it sounds to me like she is making excuses for her shoddy work!

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

Hair lacks moisture. Try some moisturizing shampoo. Also, use a satin scarf or head wrap at night. Avoid the hot curling irons and blow dryers as well. The less you touch your hair....the less split ends you'll have.

Good Luck.

Faster way to reduce Split-Ends in HAIR?

Hair is made up of protein, so eat foods which contain plenty of protein like fish, eggs, liver, milk products, yeast, wheat germ, sprouts, beans, nuts and yoghurt.Hot oil massages improve the circulation.More cheap and natural remedies for hair growth at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/growhair.htm...

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

I am 17 years old.

My hair is very, very dry, curly, and frizzy, it makes me look very old.

When I staighten my hair with a iron it gets really frizzy, but still looks better than my original hair.

I went to a hair stylist about 6 months ago,, and I showed them pictures of what I want my hair to look like and they said they can do it.

I told my Mom and she insisted I go to another hair stylist.

This new hair stylist refused to straighten my hair, saying only black people get that done.

She said it might fry my hair.

So instead, they cut and died it, the dye came out very white and people always said I had gray highlights.

My hair is about long enough to get the style I want.

My Mom is telling me now that I can't get it done. It's immpsoible.

Something so little made me so mad, because I always hated my hair and when the lady said they can give me that style it made be so, soooo happy.

Now my Mom is telling me it's immposible and they just want to steal my money,

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

read tips and articles on hair-straightening on this site

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

won't hurt to try! use some styling/straightening products...they may help!

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

I know you said you tried an iron, but before you get it chemically relaxed, I would suggest going to a beauty product store (NOT a grocery store or anything that doesn't SPECIALIZE in beauty) and finding the best iron. I would recommend ceramic or ionic. The ionic ones can get up to $80, and the ceramic one I have is $40, but it is so worth it cuz it works so well. Also try using a straightening gel or spray when you use the iron, that should help too. If you do decide to get it relaxed, DON'T do it yourself, go to a stylist. Tell your mom you would rather have it professionally done than risk hurting it, and that you have tried everything! Maybe if you make a point to pay for it yourself she will compromise with you. Good luck! :)

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

It's possible. My mom has the same hair. Curly. frizzy... The white woman's afro, pretty much. They can do it. She gets it permed monthly. Then she straightens it daily. I have naturally board straight hair, and with the straight perm and the treatments, which condition her hair to keep it soft and moisturized, it looks like mine. They can do it. You just have to get the right shampoos and conditioners. You should also get hair treatments done every few months.

Buy a CERAMIC straightener. Not a metal one. Metal ones fry your hair. The ceramic ones don't.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

Yes girl any body can get their hair straightened or permed as we say it.It doesn't matter what type of hair you have.Girl if you want to get your hair permed and you know somebody that will do it for you go for it.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

get a straight perm/relaxer. it doesnt matter what race you are, if it works for you them it works. or u can try a flat iron.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

well you are 17 years old so you still need to listen to you mom. but i think you should do it because your old enough to make you own decisions. you should go for it. it never really hurts to try.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

i think if u want something and Ur paying 4 it u can get it

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

ok,I am black and it wud fry ur hair. But wat u cud do is go 2 anotherr hairstylest or ask u mom if they cud blow dry it straight. It hurts a little, but u cud do it.If u dont want a stylest 2 do it,buy 1 of those ceramic conair things and it wont fry ur hair because it is 4 every race of hair.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

before trying anything drastic try straightening it w/ the Ultra Chi Ceramic Iron. i'm 14 and i have extremely curly, frzzy, hair too. but i'm not white. my parents are from india. so try that first, cause you don't want to lose all your hair or damage it beyond repair. it takes me a good hour and half. and actually right now i'm looking into easystraight. but if it takes you less than that then just stick to the iron. i'm just trying to find something different to cut down my time.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

it will work if you get the kind the dry you hair while straighting and do it right after you take a shower

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

ok my hair used to look just like your saying your looked and i had a stylist that also would not do mine so i me and my mom found someone else it is not the best ides to perminately get it straighten but your stylist can do a relaxor mine is by CHI but you stylist may use another i will not damage your hair and if yoru stylist know what he or she is doing it will work now keep in mind that when you wach and dry your hair it will look the same culry frizzy hair but what this does is makes it soooooo much easier to straighten it used to take me 2 hours to do mine now it only takes about 15 mins one more thing if you get your hair highlighted or colored or anything you have to wait about a month before getting it highlighted something to do with the chemicals if you do it too close together it is not good for your hair

hope this helps

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

yes cut it into layers if you have frizzy hair.that is wat i did it really work!!!

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

yes it work on your hair

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

First how old is that sylist? Yes, you can straighten regular hair. Although now that they have taken your hair to extreme it may dry it or as your mom says fry it. Find a youthful stylist with new ideas in your area maybe they can help. There are all kinds of new straightening product.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

hair straighteners with pins in the clamps work good and you can get it chemically straightened that's not just for black people you should go back to that salon and they say that again tell them your never coming back.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

babe send me your pic and i will help you as good as i can, maybe even find some simple ways to try and get it to work

okay

just hang in there

runninggril43@yahoo.com

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

well i think you should get a perm then straten it thats what keeps my hair long an beautiful.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

There are ways to straighten curly hair...I would recommend a relaxer. I am not sure what the ladies were showing you, but if you want your hair not to be dry try a hot oil treatment, or a deep conditioner at least once a week, also to straighten it make sure you are putting product on it. You are most likely drying it out, causing it to be worse when you straighten it, without product on it, also use a professional shampoo and conditioner to let with anti-frizz.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

Why don't you just get some wrap lotion and blow dry your hair yourself. It may not be permanent, but it should work and you can save the bulk of your money.

Wash your hair with a detangling shampoo %26amp; use a good conditioner. After you rinse the conditioner out, while the hair is still damp, apply the wrap lotion and blow your hair dry. It should come out nice and straight without the high cost of a salon style.

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

yeah there is

Will hair straightening work with my type of hair?

try getting it Chem. Straight.

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

I just had my waist-length hair cut by my long-time stylist (of about 15 years). I gave him only four directives before he began: Make it age-appropriate, flattering, easy to maintain, and no coloring. The resulting cut is just OK and not the transporting experience I'd hoped for. While it's true that the new style's unfamiliarity may be adding to my unhappiness, it's just not flattering. In fact, it's the way my mother-in-law wears her hair.

If you were me, would you live with it, call the stylist and tell him the situation, or make an appointment with someone new?

And if you suggest revisiting the stylist, would you expect that I would have to pay again?

Thanks...

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

I totally know how you feel. I know I can't see it but you may want to leave it alone, because some times a little bit of new growth starts making it hang allot better, sometimes things that look bad or to blunt or what ever kind of blend in with some new growth, some new growth can even blend the cut when it is actually cut wrong also. If you have it re cut,you may still hate it and your hair will be even shorter. Trust me I totally know where you are coming from. Give it three or four weeks and then if you really can not stand it go have it tweaked a little at the salon. Good luck

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

hey..

i totaly know what ur thinking..

when i got my hair cut i hated it..the cut was to short. the colour was wrong and the hair dresser blamed it on me..but hey its only hair yeah,

if i was you i would tell the dude who cut it and tell him your not happy with it..

i wish i did... Report It

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

Id say try it out for a while and if you're still not happy with it, try somebody new.

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

just give it time and get used to it...it will grow back soon...p.s. your cat is soooo cute

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

Oiy, a bad cut is hard to fix. You probably should have given him objective directions because the things you said are so subjective--they can mean different things to different people, so neither of you is at fault.

Can you post a picture? Maybe it's not bad--you're just not used to it.

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

you shouldn't have to pay again if you are unhappy. the other thing is if you donated it to locks of love you wouldn't have to feel so badly because you would know that no matter what you may look like at least you donated to a good cause.

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

I would definately contact the stylist and tell them that you are not satisfied. And they should NOT charge you for something you've already paid for. You are probably not the only person that has done this before. It's your hair, you need to make it clear that you do not like it. .. Good luck!

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

go to citysearch.com. thats happend to me before. there is one salon-- $25 for a haircut and it comes out beautiful and blow dryed every time... theres another one $25 for a haircut where i went last time. i was in tears and i hid for a whole two weeks.

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

I recommend that you let your hair grow long(out) again. If you do not like the way your hair grows, then you may have to return to your favorite hairstyle that your stylist knows you like.

Honestly you asked your stylist to remember all of your directives.

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

Revisit the stylist and tell him you want him to *fix this*. Remind him of the directive that it be flattering and say that you don't feel that it is flattering. If he is not willing to fix it free of charge, get another stylist and go there from now on. If your stylist isn't interested in keeping a long term customer, he's got worse problems than bad taste in styles!

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

this isn't your stylist fault! you did not give him/her an exact cut you wanted to have. you kinda left it in thier hands. ya kinda was asking for a let down. you need to know what you want when getting a new style. you would probably expect to pay again for a new cut conidering you realy didn't know what you wanted. goog luck hope all turns out well!

How to deal with a disappointing new hair style?

yeah you do feel my pain i hear ya. It stinks cause if you can't see your self looking gorgeous then how do you expect others to see you? very disappointing your right. Good luck with it and give it a few days. I'd go back to the origianl stylist. they need to know your not happy at all... So they do not mess up anyone elses hair.

Would you let anyone on "Shear Genius" cut your hair?

On the Bravo competition show. I wouldn't let any of the stylists clip my dog; let alone my hair.

Would you let anyone on "Shear Genius" cut your hair?

NO WAY! Especially after the episode where they had to imitate the celebrity photo, none of them listened to their clients!

Would you let anyone on "Shear Genius" cut your hair?

Hair salon in San Francisco (great cut/color but not super expensive)???

I need to get my hair highlighted/lowlighted/trimmed in SF %26amp; would love to find a place that can do a great job without being ridiculously expensive. I tried Milvali Salon- but it cost $200 to get partial highlights %26amp; a trim and the cut and color both sucked. I also tried a place on church/market where I spent $250 for bad highlights/average cut. I have shoulder-length, basic, easy brown hair. It isn't thick/curly/kinky or complicated in any way. I wouldn't mind paying a fair bit if I knew the results would rock (have stylists in Denver %26amp; Australia who I pay big bucks to, but they always do a sensational job), but am not willing to pay a bunch the first time with a stylist until I see the results. The stylists I've seen here have always been highly recommended (citysearch) and I've always gone to the exact person I've been referred to.

Please help. Hot date this weekend- can't go looking like I do!

Cheers!

If you don't mind travelling to the East Bay, there is a salon in the Rockridge area called Alexander Popes.

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

The stylist sayes if I cut my hair more often it will grow faster. I understand that it will be healther, but how can it grow faster if I keep cutting it?

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

Cutting has NO EFFECT on how fast the hair grows out of the follicle.

All it does is make the ends look better.

I have done hair since 1984.

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

im pretty sure she just meant that if you get it trimmed every once in a while, it'll help your hair grow.

whenever you get split ends and damage your hair at the bottom, your hair wont grow as well when its damaged, so snipping it makes your hair healthier and healthier hair grows faster =)

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

B/c if you trim it then your getting rid of all the damaged split ends and it's not spliting your hair. So then it ends up being healthy and grow more natural way.

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

It just seems like it does.

Basically if you have a buzz cut and your hair grows an inch, it's noticeable. If you have hair down to your waist, an inch or two goes unnoticed.

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

I find it appears to grow faster becuse your hair might be snapping off at the end if you use GHD's or other heat syling tools with out getting regular cuts. So if you get it cut regularly the hair wont split/snap off at the end and therefore will grow better.

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

Regular trims keeps your hair from breaking off. The stylist just needs to nip the ends every 2 months if you want to grow your hair longer. But cutting it does not make your hair grow faster.

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

Its a lie, hair grows from the root therefore if you cut it it will not grow faster. What getting it trimmed reg. will do is prevent you from having to get a lot cut off when you go in, and it will look healthier. If you don't trim reguarly you will get splits which just keep splitting faster after you get them. If you don't trim them when you finally do go in you will need more cut off than if you had just kept it trimmed reguarly.

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

UR hair grows weather it has split ends or not. UR hair grow's from the roots, not the ends.

However, it makes UR hair look nice %26amp; smooth %26amp; healthy if you cut the split ends every so often.

Do, not Oversdose on getting UR hair cut, or it will not grow.

A hair stylist told me that if you comb UR from the ends, gradually getting the tangles out, as you work the comb downword, %26amp; working the comb up higher, still combing downward strokes. This helps you to have less split ends %26amp; requires less cutting of the split ends!!

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

it doesnt... it just gets rid of split ends and makes it look better

Explain how regularly cutting hair makes it grow?

Because hair stops growing when there is split ends. The secret formula for hair growth is to see that hair remains healthy. Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c... for more details.

Right hair style for woman over 60?

are there any hair stylists out there, that can help me choose a hair style? I am 67, blond hair, 5`5", 145 lbs. I want a stylish cut, without trying to look like a teenager. I like to have a side bang, but other than that, I don`t know. I have a diamond shaped face. I have been wearing my hair with a cut out ear, etc I am hoping you guys out there can give me several ideas, as I guess I am getting tired of my regular cut. I think I look best with my hair away from my face. Any ideas for me short of plastic surgery??Thanks in advance

Right hair style for woman over 60?

I admire you for your willingness to change. It's so easy to get stuck in a rut! I think a hairstylist could really help you choose something fresh that doesn't look too young. Next time you're in for a cut, ask your stylist for some ideas.

Right hair style for woman over 60?

Yes do something completely different.

Right hair style for woman over 60?

Go to the salon, and ask for a side swept bang, with a slight flip out at the back. Have them introduce some choppy layers up top and in the back, and more wispy layers as they get nearer to your face. Meanwhile, ask them to give you a blow out. Curled hair just doesn't look right. And, of course, remember Ms Exeter's (divine expert at Vogue) advice for women over 50: avoid long hair; it makes the whole face seem more saggy and droopy. So long as you're not asking the hair stylist to experiment, you should be fine.

Oh! And if you're scared to try a drastic new cut, consider getting your hair highlighted. Sometimes it's fun just to mix it up a bit with colours, which can add the illusion of different textures in your current cut, or accentuate the ones that you already have. You've made it this far, so why not have some fun!?

Hair salon in Houston, TX?

I'm moving to the Houston area from Austin. It took me 4 years to find a decent stylist for my hair in Austin - you know, one you can walk in for the first time, say "Do whatever you think will look good," and it always DOES look good.

So now I'm looking for a stylist in Houston, and I realize s/he has a lot to live up to. Here are my prerequisites:

-Needs to understand how curly/wavy hair works, especially in Houston humidity

-Needs to understand thin/fine hair (lucky me)

-Price no more the $60

-Understanding that I only get my hair cut one every 4-6 months, so no guilt and can create a cut that grows out nicely

-I live on the south side of loop 610, so that's my desired location

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hair salon in Houston, TX?

I have been going to The Hair Color Salon and I love it! Nancy Parshall (the stylist) does wonders with my hair and its super curly too! Her haircuts are $60.00! Its definitely well worth the drive. She starts out with a wonderfully relaxing shampoo massages your head, she plays nice soothing music and your seated in the most comfortable shampoo chair ever! She really takes her time to talk with you before so she knows exactly what you want. She's perfect for changing up styles on a spur of a moment. Just try her out!

:(

:(

:(

:(

:(

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

Without seeing a picture is there something you can do to distract from the shortness? Would you be able to put in a pretty decorative hair pin or something along those lines? Do you have some cute earings that you could show off with the short hair? Try putting on some fabulous accessories to draw attention away from your hair. Good luck!

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

get highlights that will make your head more girlish

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

Sorry sweetie, theres nothing you can do, just wait for it to grow back! if you massage your scalp it is said to promote hair growth

As for wearing something to school, what about a bandanna? its not a hat so could you get away with it?

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

Get a wig, or find a different way to wear it, like part it differently.

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

extensions

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

Fake hairpieces or a convincing wig. I feel so bad for you. Stylists can be so brutal. Try finding a cool sort of style for that short of a length.

Or fake sick for the next two days, it'll be the weekend then, and you can really formulate a plan.

My heart goes out to you and I hope all goes well.

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

You could get a wig..

Or just look confident and show that you're TOTALLY happy with your new hair!!

You could also wear a bandanna..

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

if you can, make an app. tomorrow to get extensions put in, you can go in to school a little late, they'll last for a few months and by then your hair will be grown out at least another inch, maybe more, just keep getting them done until your hair grows back out a little longer

best of luck %26amp; hope this all works out=]

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

Well ,parsely flakes help grow hair, healthier foods and be nice too your hair dont die it so much or anything:).

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

I can understand how this must be upsetting for you, but have confidence in yourself and remember that your hair will grow back. The best thing to do tomorrow is to wear pretty makeup and your favorite outfit, tie a matching scarf around your head, and then just go in there with your head held high and pretend you meant it to look like that!

I'm a woman and I have very short hair (on purpose), and from my point of view, it can be very cute and feminine. Your eyes will show up and look really big, especially if you play them up with the right makeup, and you can wear pretty earrings which everyone will notice. It's also easy to style and takes no time at all.

Take care and best wishes to you.

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

I would get highlights..or maybe a hairband with a cute bow or flower on it..

http://beauty.ivillage.com/accessories/h...

and if your hair is even too short for that you can try going for an edgy look or dye it an extreme color

http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/celebri...

Plus their are plenty of celebrities with short hair and it looks great! If your worried bout face add a little blush to highlite ur cheekbones..

Good luck..and don't worry your hair will grow back in time!

I wanted to cut my hair short, now im almost freaking bald, WHAT DO I DO!!!?

you are exaggerating, it won't be that bad

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

I have always had thin, fine hair. I could somewhat disguise it with the right products. I have been working on growing it out for sometime. During my cancer treatment, my hair thinned even more. It seems to be staying that way. It is more thin than it used to be. I wanted to keep my hair the length it is...about at my chest but it has no style and it is FLAT. I have some longer layers in it but it will not stay styled or hold curl. Hair Product either does not hold or it makes my hair frizzy. I don't want to cut it, but I am willing if I need too. My stylist is even puzzled. Any ideas?? I have an oval-roundish face. It's also hard for me to want to cut it because my most recent treatment caused me to gain some weight..and I'm a little above average weight wise...but it's still hard because my hair is kind of "my security" and the only thing I am comfortable with since my body is changing with each treatment. BUT I am tired of having NO style in my hair!! Please help!

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

If you go to a great stylist in your area, they should be able to help you. It is hard to tell you what cut you need without seeing and feeling your hair. Try to find a stylist that is experienced. Remember, you get what you pay for.

Also, you shoud buy NIOXIN products. You can buy NIOXIN products at certain salons and even at ULTA. You can read more about it online, just google it. The products are pricey, but you should at least get the shampoo and conditioner. It is proven to help keep the hair you have. Many elderly, cancer patients and customers with thinning hair use it. Don't expect it to work wonders overnight though...you should notice a difference through continued use over a long period of time.

Hope it helps!

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

try layers....

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

first thing

sorry about getting cancer, that is always hard on people and their families

and i think maybe you should get a hair weave? like make it looks thicker

you can buy shampoos and shorter hair makes your face look bigger

so the longer the better if your self concious about the weight

im sure the weave will hold the style better

and your hair will grow back to normal soon enough

hope that helps

bless-x-x

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

go with something shorter and a bit spiky....look up Diane Keatons hair style, its short but the length can vary. There are, shoot what to they call those products??They have some out now specifically for adding a flip in various directions so your hair looks fuller. Look up her style online and if you like it take the pic to your stylist. This style works with very thin hair as well as thick.

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

You got Cancer OMG! I feel so sorry for you I hope you feel better and oh to answer your question get hair extensions or get a wig.

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

Ok. I have one style to say. Layers. Layers are thin and choppy. If you had layers then people wouldn't even know if you had cancer. Thats the good thing about them. Also layers are in style right now. I hope i helped!

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

I'm sorry you got cancer. You must be a strong lady. I think it's respectable, that you fought through treatments and came out on top.

As far as styling goes, I'd say something about to your collarbone, would be flattering. Perhaps lots of layers and texture, and side-swept bangs would frame your face beautifully.

Hope that helps! God bless.

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

my cousin was only 12 and lost almost all her beautiful hair we both cryed i cut it in a really cute short cut because it was so fryed, jesse took tons of really good vitimins and her strait hair cam back cirly shiny and so pretty she looks like a doll .. cut your damaged hair take vitimins eat lots of healty food and use a good hair shampoo.. you will look better than before

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

I had an aunt who had multiplmyeloma. She cut her hair fairly short and chunky layers, then wore a wig until it grew back.

When it grew back, it was thicker and softer than it was before, she said.

If you're feeling it looks a little too thin, maybe getting it cut for the short term? It can always grow back. ;)

The below site, you need to sign up... but you can upload a picture of yourself and try diff styles. (free)

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

You should get a short, facing framing cut with several layers. This will add body and volume, and any thinning/ uneveness will be less noticable.

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

Get cornrows/ all the way braided down. It's great ;)

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

There are wigs available for cancer patients. Ask your

doctor for information. Wear a pink ribbon for cancer to start.

If you do not prefer to have a wig. Just buy tee shirts and

have them printed "bald is beautiful" or better yet"

"I am surviving cancer" and let people know you are thinking

positive. There are many fighters out there. I see them all the

time, and you are one of them. my prayers to you. ():-})-{+

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

1] cut some layers into it - that will give it more body.

2] go to Nioxin website and research your hair type, and their products. Then search the web for cheapest prices. [ last time I got it on Ebay.

3] Finished chemo [ COMPLETE loss of hair ] for breast cancer and medically induced menopause from the hormone treatment afterwards.

Started Nioxin system on Easter, and my stylist is pleased.

They also have styling products for fine/thin hair.

Hair Thinned from Cancer Treatment...What Cut do I need??

Everyone is saying get layers. NO, the layers will make your hair look even thinner. Bring the length up to more of a medium length and have it cut blunt on the bottom.

PS. Please take care and I hope the cancer treatment worked. Good luck Hun and God bless.

What do I do when a salon fried my hair?

My hair was colored 5 months ago, first time in 15 years, and because of the growout my stylist talked me into a color weave. A color specialist at the salon did this but when she was finished my hair was coming out in clumps. I don't know how much she washed out or lost in the foils but after getting home I noticed that I had breakage all over my scalp about 1/2 inch long. Breakage was on the new growth. The color specialist told me after I commented about the hair coming out that it was because of the previous color and how damaged my hair was. My hair was quite healthy. I ended up paying the salon but wonder what I should have done and want advice. The color specialist is not the same stylist who cuts my hair and I have been looking for years for someone whom I trust and do not have problem with her but do now with the salon and color specialist. Color specialist never ask about medications I may be on and had no concerns about damage before starting.

All advice welcome.

What do I do when a salon fried my hair?

Hey that happened to my hair. You need to just give your hair a break mabye try a natural style without chemicals or (If your black) braids that don't put too much stress on your hair. Don't use micros!!! If your white you probably want to use a very simple hair style without too many gels chemicals or hair sprays.

you probably would want to use a good condition regime such as alphogee (when hair is hardened don't bend ) Just READ DIRECTIONS BEFORE USE. Mabye find another stylist and get a second opinion. It's important that you make sure that medications and other products don't interfere.

What do I do when a salon fried my hair?

sorry u had to go through that..

your hair will grow back im sure it just a matter of relativly short time

dont think you should do anything.. i mean bad things happen.. try to stay away of chimichals as much as u can

What do I do when a salon fried my hair?

you may want to talk to the management of the hair place. because any damage like hair loss is the barbers fault. you can at least get your money back.

What do I do when a salon fried my hair?

medication does make hair fall out. most hair dressers dont ask. sometimes meds dont make your hair fall out. if its falling out from the roots most likely its the meds, if there is breakage everywhere then its the chemical it was left on too long if its elasticy and frizzed it was damaged, so if its their fault tell them you want your money back, the damaged hair cut off and dont go back.

I can't get my hair to look the way it did when I left the salon?

I just got a new hair cut last night. I was so happy when I left and it was super adorable. I loved how it was styled and the cut itself. I watched what the stylist did to my hair and now, no matter what I do, I cannot duplicate what she did to my hair and I am starting to hate the haircut because of it. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do, short of getting another hair cut.

I can't get my hair to look the way it did when I left the salon?

* Choose The right hair dryer to Redo your hairstyle:

When it comes to selecting a hair dryer, cost isn't everything. Rather than buying the most expensive dryer(or the cheapest!), consider the health and texture of your hair, says Victor. If your hair is fine and wispy or is damaged, you don't need a dryer that offers lots of volume or heat 閳?in fact, such dryers will just cause knots and tangles. For fine hair, Victor recommends the Solis 401, $180, or other dryers with low wattage and heat.

On the other hand, if you have thick, coarse or curly hair, you'll want a high-performance dryer. "The Supersolano X($200)is the Ferrari of blow-dryers," says Victor. You'll have your hair dry in no time with its 1,875 watts and multiple heat and speed settings!

Blow-dry tip: For the sleekest blow-dry, use heat on a section of hair to dry it, then use the cool setting to hold the style.

* Tourmaline flat iron:

Flat irons have destroyed many a healthy head of hair. "So many women have embraced that very straight look. The flat iron is used after almost every time these women wash their hair, and the end result is hair so damaged it's hard to get it healthy again," says Victor. For those of us who crave stick-straight locks, he recommends using tourmaline technology. "The [tourmaline] stone uses infrared heat that penetrates the hair much faster than your normal flat iron 閳?it's 25 per cent more efficient," he says. This means your hair needs less time passing through the damage-causing heated clamp. Tip: Don't let any heated hair appliance be in contact with your hair for too long. "If you notice white steam coming off the hair, it's just burning water," says Victor. "But if it's dark smoke, you're burning your hair's protein, which means you're causing damage."

Two models to try are the 2 ISI Max, $200, which displays the temperature on a digital screen, and the Babyliss Pro TT(BTM3558C), $140, which allows you to adjust the temperature with a manual knob(known as a reostat dial). Both give you control over the amount of heat that comes into contact with your hair.

* Natural-haired bristle brush

Firm, dark in colour and usually made out of boar bristles(don't worry: the boar isn't killed, just shaved), these brushes can often provide the much-needed slip, grip and polish that Victor is adamant about. Slip(based on bristle type)refers to the ease with which the brush moves through your hair; grip(staggering of bristles)is how the brush effortlessly holds the hair when you turn it; and polish is how the brush leaves your hair. You can get a good-quality brush for about $30(try the Hercules Sagemann brush, $30).

One of Delineation's best sellers is the Mason Pearson Handy Bristle brush, $140. It's pricey since it's made by hand and uses Asian boar hair for the best brushing experience. Many different styles are available, so you'll be sure to find one that's right for your hair type. Softer bristles are best for fine hair, while a mix of strong boar and nylon bristles suits those with thick or curly hair. There's even a brush with flexible bristles for sensitive scalps! "For a brush to do its job, the bristles need to be stronger than the hair you're working on," says Victor.

ohh.. maybe this will help:

I can't get my hair to look the way it did when I left the salon?

Honey its because your beautician is a magician! lol Thats what I've been told. Just go see her again and ask her if she will show you how to style it and to let you try.

I can't get my hair to look the way it did when I left the salon?

The best thing to do is, next time your in the salon ask lots and lots of questions.

like every product they put on your hair ask them what it is, how much it is and whether you can purchase it in the salon.

Also watch how they move your hair, the hand actions and lifting and so on.
