Poofy, Wavy Hair! With BANGS! HELP!?

First off: I have dirty blonde, wavy thick long hair. It's pretty dry, and very poofy.

Now, combine this with the fact that I have NO CLUE what products to use for my dry/poofy hair, and that my hair stylist cut my hair in layers- most are chin-length.

AND, I have bangs.

What do I do? My hair looks awful, and I've been battling with it for a while!

For now, while your hair is short, I think you should use a styling cream in your hair after washing, to reduce frizz. Then blow dry your hair with a medium round brush, to give you some smoothness but work with your hair's natural texture. Use a styling wax on the ends around your face to give them some definition. I think you should work with your hair's natural wave and texture. Then, for other looks, you could use mousse or a curling serum to scrunch it as it dries into a curly look. Good luck!

Straighten it!

I have thick, wavy/poofy/curly short dark brown hair, with bangs, and that's what I do every day before I go to bed.

I use BioSilk Silk Therapy and Redken Straightener Balm (Loreal Hot Straight works well if money is an issue).

First of all, use a good quality shampoo and conditioner. I suggest sunsilk. Secondly, after you wash your hair, apply leave in conditioner. This is optional but it works great at protecting your hair while you blowdry or starighten which the third thing I recommend. Lastly, at least once a week, massage your hair and scalp with oil. Not vegetable oil, but maybe olive or mustard oil. Apply it at night, (remember to massage really well) and then wash your hair in the morning. Hope this helps

ok i had the exact same problem.

i used pantene pro v conditioner [[anti frizz]] conditioner.

i used their shampoo, then conditioner, leave it for about 3min or 4min [[when i took a shower, i let the radio go on so i'd know about how long it would be]] then rinse. when your done taking a shower, blow dry my hair, which makes it shine, although it gets poofy...you could always striaghten it.

do this for like a week and you'll get results...at least thats what i got? xD but after a week or two it'll get better...pantene DOES work.

i hope tis helps... and good luck =)!

I have wavy think long hair too

what i use is aussie shampoo and conditioner

also, next time you got to the salon, ask them to thin out your hair and straighten it

and maybe another thing that would help is if your layers aren't so spread out, like they're close together

use a curling iron to curl your bangs, unless you have swoops bangs, which i do, use a straightner

i hope that I helped!

my hair is the exact same way. all you have to do is right after you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair and put styling cream on it (pantene extra straight comb in cream works great) and let it sit for a while. then blow dry your hair and get it as straight as you can. then go over it with a straightener and your hair will look great! i do it every day, and it may take a while when you first start but with practice it will take like 20 min tops (depending on how thick your hair is)

Use a hair gloss or anti frizz serum on your hair. Paul Mitchell Super Skinny is great, so is Garnier Fructis anti frizz serum.

in my experience anti-frizz creams/lotions don't work as well and make my hair feel brittle. if your hair is really tough you could try using a small amount of mouse instead.

use either while hair is still wet and mix in very well. then let it air dry. you can blow dry your roots upside down and that will give them more volume if your hair is very flat.

and then blow dry your bangs which ever way you want them to go. :)

Frizz serum is the remedy to tame poofyness. You can get it at Wal Mart for a good price (like $4-8). A good brand is John Frieda, thats what i use since i have very curly hair, it even works well when its rainy. Get a good mousse too. Any kind you want is good just to style and keep it looking pretty and neat. For the bangs use a straightner and use something for protection against damage. VO5 Red, Heat Defense Conditioning Spray (also available at Wal Mart). Spray LIGHTLY all over with your hair with hair spray to hold your look and done! :]

Hope this helps.
