What do you call the comb like thing the stylist used to cut my hair recently?

It looked like a comb but it kind of pulled a little when she ran it over the ends of my hair and it took a little off each time. What do you call this thing and exactly what does it do? I probably sound like an idiot, LOL.

It could have been a form if thinning shears. These were more than likely used to thin your hair to remove the bulk so that you can wear you style/cut better.

You can get them at almost any beauty supply store. However, they are for professional use. If you have no clue what you're doing...don't even try to use them. It will be disastrous.

Good Luck!

Ha ha, I love the way it looks when they ise it! Its called a thinner, and it does just that. Some times they have to thin your hair to make it fall a certain way, or so its easier to handle, some people go to the hairdresser just to get this done if they find their hair hard to handle and too thick!

Hope I helped!
