if you had excellent service and love your hair and can replicate it at home then she/he deserves to know somehow wheather it is money or something else. bring her lunch,send more clients to her/him, go by the salon without an apointment just to tell her/him how much you love your hair.

i'm a hairstylist and the best tip i EVER RECEIVED was a big hug and a tear from a woman who had just left an abusive situation and had nothing. someone gave her the money for a haircut (child's teacher).

she now has a job a car a home and self esteem.
