Hair stylist etiquette?

i'm going to get my hair cut. am i supposed to do anything special before i go in. (wash my hair, etc.)

It depends on what type of place, you're going to. If you are going to a cheap salon (ie Hair Cuttery, Cost Cutters) they usually just spray down your hair before cutting. But if you are going to a mid-range salon and up, washing the hair will be included in the price of the cut.

no they usually wash your hair before they cut it, if they don't ask you, tell them. just make sure your hair isn't really styled up, like tons of hair spray or anything like that. just make sure that it is brushed.

No, they should wash it for you, it should be included in the price. If they don't wash it for you, I'd find another hairstylist. If you have any pictures to show the stylist how you want your hair cut/colored, bring them with you.

Nope! They will wash your hair for you. Even if they don't (which most salons legally are required to wash your hair first) they have their own equipment and everything to spray your hair and etc. You just go in, and don't for get to pay and TIP according to the service you receive!

they do that for you all you have to do is get their and bring a book and magazine because you probably have to go under the dryer for a while and don't forget to pay good luck!

If you aren't sure if they wash then wash it yourself, or call before you go in and ask, most decent places wash for you though. If you have an idea what you want and have some magazines with pics take them. Be clear, give details on what you want, your stylist isn't a mind reader. Tips are always appreciated. Enjoy.

They should but some don't. Sometimes you have to ask and sometimes they have water in a spray thing to use. My place they use the spray bottle. So it doesn't matter just depends on were you go...
