ASK a friend to trim it for you!

You can go to a different one if she does take off to much. Yopu can tell her you are going to a different one if she odes cut off to much. It will make her do what you want so she doesn't lose business.

ALMOST impossible. just try to talk to them and tell them to cut it a little longer just in case you dont like it or something. they can always redo it if its too long.

tell them a little less than what you expect. Then when they cut a little more it no big deal.

the easiest thing to do is to tell them to cut less - if you really want an inch off tell them you only want a 1/2 inch

Yeah. . .chop them in the throat and say.
I thought I told you not to even try to cut off more than I asked !!!!
No, really: Tell them EXACTYL how much (by numbered measurement) you want cut . . .1/2 inch, 1/4 inch. and show them on a ruler or measurment tape. . .they may not know how much a 1/4 inch is!.

That happens to me all the time so I let my mom trim it for me once a month!

This used to happen to me all the time and it is so annoying when you are trying to grow your hair and the hairdresser is being scissor happy!
The best thing to do is tell them exactly how much you want cut off and let them know you are trying to grow your hair.
Then ask them to show you how much they are taking off before they make the first cut.
This is what I do now and I haven't had any too-short hair disasters in years =]
