I was only at the salon for color (not cut) - my colorist talked me into dying back to natural brunette from J. Anniston type highlights to help my hair look shinier and repair from color stress, then recommended someone who had never cut my hair to cut/style it so it would look healthier. Now its split everywhere - most damaged look of my life!!! The shred starts so high up it will take at least 2 years to grow out?!! P.S. What style is this?!! What long haired girl would want this done to her hair?!! I can't stop thinking about it even to sleep :( What can I do?!!

I say its time to repair your hair. Go back to the salon and buy Biolage Conditioning Balm Works wonders for split ends and also Biolage cerum. A bit pricey but worth every penny.

You know , you can or better yet should go back and complain or at least ask them what can they do to make it look good. Also it may be only the lighter color stickin out meaning they didnt cover the highlights right. But if you see and know for sure they are split ends no matter what they say your hair is fried maybe with the dark color they put on it and need emergency once a week deep conditioning and definitelly no more permanent color for a while. Make them use semi-permanent in case you need more covering. Good luck and let us know what happen.

I've noticed this. It's kind of a 'mullet look' that's in fashion and I could never understand how u were sposed to manage hair in this condition!
The best stuff for my hair i've found is chemical free ie. look for stuff without the chemicals listed at www.mypure.com.au I use the shampoo and cond at www.ppcherbs.com - all aust stuff but u should be able to find similar at a health food store...
It leaves it really soft, friz free and manageable!
