It really depends on your hair. For example, a girl with frizzy hair could not easily get a sleek bob. Just make sure you pick a realistic style, and it should work out okay.

it will differ a little bit, because the fashion magazine photo does not represent you and your bone structure and hair quality, and it is two dimensional image that took several hours of careful makeover and computer photo shop work after that ...

I am a hair stylist and am forever being handed pictures of hairstyles to copy. If you have the right face shape for the style, similar textured hair and are prepared to style it (ie blow dry, product etc) sure, we can copy it! However if you have a pic of something totally unrealistic or unattainable -no. Most hair stylists are more than willing to go through step by step with you to achieve what you want but please be realistic. Most hair style books feature photos of celebrities or very good looking people and are the result of hours of primping, good lighting and heaps of product. The results are unrealistic and make it very hard for mere mortals to attain. Having said all that, I hope you find a good hair stylist who can help you. Good luck!

Hate to break this news to you but everytime you take a picture, it seems like you come out with the stylists impression of it, not a copy. I usually spend around $250 for a cut and color and even paying that amount, it's really difficult to find someone to do exactly what you want.
